What happens when you scan
A barcode is sent to our service to look up and classify the product. That food data is shared across everyone and isn't tied to you. A photo is analysed on your device; the image stays there.
Who else is involved
- Product data from Open Food Facts.
- Food classification via an AI model (it only ever sees the food, never you).
- Anonymous, aggregate app usage via Expo Insights.
- Product suggestions link out to Amazon as affiliate links.
